Praying scripture over your family

Romans 12 has been my favorite for awhile. I love lists in scripture, and this chapter lists things to strive for as a Christian and marks of a true Christian. We can’t do any of this without the power of the Holy Spirit!

I have written some of these things in my prayer journal and try to pray them over my family….for example:

Lord, please help Dave, let his love be genuine and that he would abhor what is evil, help Dave to hold fast to what is good…etc…

Lord, please work in Wes’ life, help him to love others with a brotherly affection, that he would outdo others in showing honor,

That Wil would serve You and he would rejoice in the hope we have in You, God, and help him to be patient in tribulation.

Another great list is the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5….I love to pray this over my family:

Dear Lord, please keep Skye from impurity and jealousy, fits of anger and envy, please help her to have the fruit of the spirit in her life; love, joy, peace, …self control…that she would walk in step with the Spirit…

These lists have helped me in my prayer life and to pray specifically for my family.

Would love to hear what helps you in your prayer time 🙂 ♥️

Sara, you have blown us away and brought your daddy to tears. We are so thankful for the work of God’s Word in your heart and life. We have become more and more impressed with our need for God’s words to teach, challenge, bless, encourage, convict, give us hope, establish us – could go on and on. What a privilege it is to have the living Word of God in our own language, in our own homes and hands. What a wonderful treasure! We are so blessed and thankful that you have found God’s Word to be vital for your daily life. ❤️
