food, clothes, first day of school, nature…the usual stuff! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ““๐ŸŒฟ

What a few weeks it’s been! So momentous for our family! Skye went to real school for the first time, ninth grade, high school! So all the kids are either gone (college) or in school and work all day.

It’s a big deal for us because there has always been at least one kid in the house for 19 years!

Skye has enjoyed her first few weeks of school and settled in. She seems to have great teachers and nice classmates.

Now it’s just Sadie and me…all alone until it’s time to pick up Skye from school.

I’ve been having productive time in the art room

I’ve gotten house work done!

Had quality time in the kitchen…adding marshmallows to pretty much whatever I can…(brownies, cookies..)

BUT! Healthy stuff too:

Oatmeal with berries and chia seeds

Collard greens! I’ve never liked collard greens until this recipe by Timothy Harlan.

And then this book, Kitchen Yarns, by Ann Hood! I absolutely love this genre; food autobiography. I really want to write a book about food ๐Ÿคฃ! It’s so inspiring to read about someone’s life and the food they make or food memories from childhood.

That Brie pasta dish was delicious!

Just how cute is this tomato paste from Trader Joe’s in an actual tube?! Love it!! Good job, Joe!!

Skye’s first day of school pancakes…the recipe my mom always uses…I’ve probably had the same pancakes on my first day of schools…โ™ฅ๏ธ…those pages in the Better Homes and Garden cookbook are crackling with spills and spatters.

New favorite shirt from target…more flowers! So comfy and dreamy.

Can’t forget about this guy!! Wil’s enjoying his classes and working. Always busy and enjoying his friends too. I know this year will fly by…really it’s almost time to take senior pictures! ๐Ÿ˜“but I’m excited for him, he’s ready to take on the world!

I’ll leave you with gorgeousness from my morning walks (I’m trying to slowly jog, but mostly walk ๐Ÿคฃ;) )

Fully embracing this new chapter of life…excited for the kids as they branch out. Praying for blessings on them and that I won’t miss them too much ๐Ÿ˜‰ โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’—

I canโ€™t believe that you are an empty nester during the day! Where is Skye going to school? This is such a great time of life for you but bittersweet, as well. Henry and Jack have been in online school for two weeks but today they were able to have in person school. They were so excited! They are home tomorrow (long distance learning) but we just heard that they will be able to go back full time on Monday! Yay! Thank you, Lord! They are so ready! Have a wonderful fall season!
