a tale of 4 trees 🌲🌲🌲🌲

I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried!!! Don’t make me…they are all my favorites, just like my kids!! ALL FAVORITES!!!

First tale:

I wanted one real tree for our porch…my friend Michelle told me about this best kept secret:

What’s funny is that it’s not a secret…this large sign is on the road that we take to church several times a week…I had not noticed it !! All trees $15!!

So I drove through the new subdivision, to the back where you take a very bumpy road into the woods…

There’s a tiny cabin and a trailer where this older guy looks to live by himself (ring any bells, Mom?)

I immediately found my little dream tree, and so enjoyed the whole experience! Next year I’m going and taking the family! It’s just that usually the tree getting and decorating is a spur of the moment whim for me and can’t wait to make it a family outing! 🤣

Perfect size and the round shape!! I love it! It’s exactly as tall as me (5’3”)

Oooh look, you can see it out the window!

Just colored lights and a big pompom garland

We love it so much! We love to drive home at night and see it twinkling on the porch

Tree number two!

The pink tree! I’ve had this tree now for about 10 years. It’s starting to shed so many pink needles everytime it moves. I hope it will hold on for about 10 more years!

It’s the perfect peachy pink color, and perfect size for the kitchen table

Also, because it’s in the kitchen, we put all the food related ornaments on it. Wes’s taco truck

Wil’s ornament for this year: sushi

Ramen!

The perfect backdrop for holiday baking…

And the rosy glow at night adds another element of coziness

Nice for a candlelit Christmas meal

Next up! The white tree! The tallest of our trees. We got this tree from Craigslist at a great deal. It has been in the living room, which seemed cramped, and last year the kitchen (we had to move the table and remove the light, it was a major ordeal) so this year, I am happy to say, the white tree found the perfect place upstairs in my art studio! I moved all the desks etc to the back of the room (thankfully it’s a large bonus room) …this is where we will put the presents and open them on Christmas

I love the whole white, pink, peach vibe up here…(pink has infiltrated every aspect of our house!)

And the last of the trees…

The red tree!

It is the perfect size and skinniness for our living room. I saw this at Donna’s store, Rabbit Trails Vintage (now in Apex)…it was like in slow motion, I saw it out of the corner of my eye, it was love at first sight.

Pictures don’t do it justice…just a perfect backdrop to our funky ornaments…

Looking lovely alongside Downton Abbey!

Thank you for taking this tour of the four trees with me! I’d love to know your tree situation! Real? Fake? Green? White?

It’s all to celebrate Jesus!! That’s why we go to all this trouble! It’s a month long celebration!! Here’s a reminder:

!!!

  2. I can’t pick a favorite either, they are all so pretty. I love, love, your home. You can tell there is a lot of love and happy memories in it. Okay, I think I do like the white tree the best…but they really are all beautiful. We have several trees in our house too. I still need to get our live tree, but snow is headed up to the area we have our permit for.
