I love how this project came together! I found this step by step bike drawing guide here and thought it would be neat to combine drawing a bike and painting the color wheel.
One thing that helped the proportions of the bicycles was that I had them trace a roll of masking tape for the two wheels. Starting off with the perfectly proportioned wheels helped the drawing come together.

I demonstrated the drawing, starting with the wheels…looking at this helpful guide:

We made sure to draw 6 sections of spokes for the color wheel

After we drew the bikes with pencil, we traced them with sharpies.
Then I gave them only the 3 primary colors: red, yellow, and blue.

Nice to have 2 color wheels: extra practice!
My little artists did a great job mixing their colors!

I told them they could add something fun in their bike baskets!

Lots of animals in the baskets…

A cute little pumpkin!

Amazing color wheel bikes by my ages 5-10 artists!

And one little preschool sister who had just as fun diligently painting.
This project took us about an hour. The kids took their time, mixed colors like champs, listened well, and enjoyed every minute.

Incorporating the bike into our October room decor…
That’s a very cute idea!❤️
