Christmastime Gatlinburg Trip 🎄✨a-frame cabin and Anakeesta

The original plan was to go on a trip after Christmas, but going before worked better with the boys’ schedules, and Kayla would be with us too! So the week before Christmas we went to Greenville to see Dave’s parents and then on to TN to be there for 3 days.

When we got to Gatlinburg, we walked around downtown, ate lunch, had some hot chocolate, enjoyed the festive vibe, the Donut Friar, and the many candy stores!

Then we drove up the steep and twisty roads to our sweet little Airbnb, the little green cabin! The driveway gave some of us heart palpitations…I would get out and walk as Dave revved it up the last incline! Thank You, Lord, for keeping us safe and for Dave’s skills!

It was the cutest!

I loved opening the kitchen window and passing hot chocolate out to whoever was in the hot tub!! Magic!!

They even had a Christmas tree!

Our view

Playing a rousing game of settlers

We loved every detail…from the macrame hangings, to the record player…

…to the rugs and every bit of the decor.

Next we took the ski lift up the mountain to Anakeesta! It’s the cutest spot at the top with a tower to climb to look out over Gatlinburg, cute eating places, bon fires, shops, lights, and tree top paths…

It was very cold! And we really want to come back when we can watch the sunset from the top.

My favorite picture ….so sweet, but so funny…Wes kept telling us to stay in place because he hadn’t taken the photo yet (teasing us) and we were laughing the whole time! These grown up kids are the best, and honestly this was one of our favorite vacations – even tho it was short and cold with many potentially dangerous driving conditions! 😉

More to come: Dollywood and our last day.
